EN// Rojava - a predominantly Kurdish region in the northeast of Syria, and home to a deeply emancipatory political project - is currently under threat: since January 6, the provisional Syrian government, composed of members of the jihadist organization HTC and supported by the global capitalist powers, launched an offensive against this de facto autonomous region, massacring civilians, and violently assaulting women who actively participated in the political project of Rojava.
In this context, we will take some time for reflection and discussion to understand what is at stake. How did the Rojava revolution transform the lives of women on site? What practices and ideas were developed there? How important is this fight for anti-patriarchal struggles in the world? And what are the current international solidarity initiatives?
This evening will be an opportunity to address these questions with a co-author of the book "We write to you since the revolution - Stories of internationalist women in Rojava" and a member of the center of Jineoloje.
FR// Soirée de présentation de livre et discussions sur la révolution des femmes au Rojava
Le Rojava - région majoritairement kurde dans le nord-est de la Syrie, et terre d'accueil d'un projet politique profondément émancipateur - est actuellement menacé : depuis le 6 janvier, le gouvernment provisoire syrien, composé de membres de l'organisation djihadiste HTC et soutenu par les puissances capitalistes mondiales, a lancé une offensive contre cette région de facto autonome, massacrant des civils, et violantant les femmes qui ont activement participé au projet politique du Rojava.
Dans ce contexte, nous allons prendre un temps de réflexion et de discussions pour comprendre ce qui est en jeu. Comment la révolution du Rojava a-t-elle transformée la vie des femmes sur place ? Quelles pratiques et idées y ont été développées ? Quelle importance cette lutte a-t-elle pour les combats anti-patriarcaux dans le monde ? Et quels sont les initiatives de solidarité internationale actuelles ?
Cette soirée sera l'occasion de nous pencher sur ces questions avec une co-autrice du livre "Nous vous écrivons depuis la révolution - Récits de femmes internationalistes au Rojava" et une membre du centre de Jineolojî.
