This is an invitation to READERS AND NON-READERS!
After our glorious meeting around the work of defining Ur-Fascism by Umberto Eco, and followin Chimamanda Adichie’s manifesto “We should all be feminists”, we decided to move on with our reading out loud with another important text by a pillar author, Aimé Césaire and his “Discourse on Colonialism” to reframe what colonialism means and how its rhetoric echoes nowadays.
Within 45 minute to an hour read, we will be able to go through this entire speech and have a conversation or a debate about it.
The reading is volunteer-based; if you don't feel comfortable, you can just listen and get energized by the meeting of other fellows in Unity Bookshop's garden!
FREE EVENT - DONATIONS WELCOME
The reading will start at 6:30pm, and we'll read the whole essay before having a collective chat about the book.
