Join us for a late afternoon of feminist creativity with Caroline as a facilitator between you and your future zine.
The theme will be ‘‘Our bodies are a battleground".
No skills required, all material provided, as well as tea and coffee :)
This first session is the start of a three-workshop series dedicated to feminism and zine-making.
These events are free, but we welcome a 3 euro donation (cash or transfer) to Unity Bookshop, OR you can contribute by bringing old magazines, random leaflets and flyers, books, stickers or all kinds of papers that we can cut from and use collectively for zine-making !
Feel free to also bring your favourite feminist books for inspiration.
FEMINIST ZINE MAKING WORKSHOP SERIES:
1. "Our bodies are a battleground" (30 May)
Feminist zine making workshop #1, focused on exploring how women's bodies have been and remain a battlefield, and expressing in a personal zines how we feel our own bodies could be freed from having to fight those battles, or used to fight and win them.
2. "If I learn I can teach others" (25 June tbc)
Feminist zine making workshop #2, centered on both the teachings of feminism that we want to pass onto others, and the ways feminists have sought to reshape teaching and education.
3. "Love is as love does" (13 August tbc)
Feminist zine making workshop #3, inspired by bell hooks’ writings on the politics and practice of love, and the importance of friendship and community.
