Former co-leader of the pro-Kurdish HDP party, human rights lawyer, and author, Selahattin Demirtaş has been unlawfully imprisoned in Turkey since November 2016.

Despite landmark rulings by the European Court of Human Rights demanding his immediate release, he remains behind bars on politically motivated charges.
